Recently, our team at JOST International had the unique opportunity to take a closer look at the long-term performance of our landing gear — thanks to our friends at AFAB – Freight and Industrial Services.
AFAB traded us an old pair of JOST landing gear legs that had been mounted on one of their trailers for years. Out of curiosity — and pride in our engineering — we decided to tear them down and see how they held up.
What we found was impressive.
Despite years of heavy use, the internal components were in excellent condition. The single-speed leg dated back to 2001, and the two-speed leg to 2007, yet both showed minimal signs of wear. In fact, our technicians agreed they could have gone right back into service.
From gears and shafts to screws and bearings, every component told the same story — durability through design.
